The minutes of the Council meeting held on Thursday 22nd November 2001 at 7p.m in Beaufront County First School, Sandhoe.

A letter has been received from Northumberland County Council Western Sector informing the Council, all works requested recently would be carried out as soon as possible.

 

B. H.R.H Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee

It was agreed after much discussion that Jubilee mugs be purchased for each child residing in the Parish and attending Beaufront County First School. The clerk was instructed in due course to purchase the mugs at the best price available.

 

C. Litter Bin, Nick

Tynedale Council have sited a replacement Bin as requested at Anick.

Precept 2002/2003

It was fully agreed the precept for 2002/2003 would be £3,000. The Chairman and clerk were given the authority to sign the necessary form to go to Tynedale Council.

 

5. Play Area Provision

A letter has been received from Anne Pickering informing the Council she does not wish to sell or lease any of her land, also a letter received from the solicitors who used to act for Commander Lakin informing the Council the last time they were in contact with the Lakin family was May 1990, and they have no contact address as the address they have, is now outdated and no contact can be made.

Councillor H. Learman thought he may still have a contact address and agreed to try and look it out to allow further research. Councillor M. Baxter agreed to try searching the Internet if we have some contact details.

The Council decided to try and find the Lakin family and know it will take time and will discuss the matter again when more information is to hand.

 

6. Correspondence

The Council received and noted the following correspondence.

 

  1. Notice from the audit commission re: a new approach to local Council audits.
  2. Letter from Tynedale Council re: assistance with recreational open spaces project.
  3. Letter from community Council of Northumberland with details of the Council serving the communities of Northumberland for 50 years.
  4. Notice from Tynedale Council re: District Local Plan.                                      Supplementary planning guidance on extensions to dwellings in the open Countryside.

 

7. Any other business

A. Naming of Business Park, Anick Road - Hexham

 

Breezetime LTD would like to name the Business Park, Sandhoe Park on consultation with the Council, three members fully agreed with the naming. Two members of the Council disagreed requesting that it should be called either Oaklands Park, Anick Park or Beaufront Park. Tynedale Council have been informed of the Council’s views and the general feeling of the Council members present at the meeting, that the Business Park should be called Sandhoe Park.

 

B. Parish Map

It was agreed to try and obtain an updated Map of the Parish for reference at meetings.

 

C. Oakwood Signs

It was agreed to ask Northumberland County Council to place signs to Oakwood as people visiting the area are finding it difficult to find.

 

D. Tree Problems

It was agreed Councillor A. Winstanley would inspect some trees requiring attention and give the details to the clerk to forward onto Northumberland County Council.

E. Bank Cottage, Oakwood Bank

The owners have recently put a gate on the entrance, which was thought could stop a right of way over the land. On seeking information on this matter, the owners have the right to put the gate on their land; this does not stop any right of way. The problem will only occur if a notice is placed restricting entry. The Council agreed to monitor the matter.

It was agreed the date of the next meeting will be Thursday February 21st 2002 at 7p.m,
