The minutes of the council meeting held on Wednesday 15th January 2003 at 7pm in Beaufront County First School, Sandhoe.

Ref: 6A Parish seats

 

The inspection and repair and upgrading work has been deferred until the spring 2003 due to the winter weather conditions.

 

Ref: 6B Footpaths/Right of way

 

NCC Rights of way officer for the area will carry out a full inspection and hopefully place an order for work to be carried out in the near future.

 

Ref: 6C Highways Matters

 

Maintenance work is still required on the Fernhill crossroads area and the Military Road. Also, the road opposite Oaklands on the Beaufront Road requires attention.

 

Ref: 6G Oil Drilling Bingfield

 

Permission has been granted for this work to be carried out. There has been no consultation with this Parish council.

D) Precept

 

The council after discussion agreed a precept of £3,500 for the year 2003/2004. The chairman and clerk were given the authority to sign the necessary precept request form.

 

5.       Correspondence

 

A) Confirmation from the information commissioner that the council’s request for a model scheme has been accepted and will be in place from 28th February 2003 until 28th February 2007.

 

B) The countryside agency have prepared a draft map showing Parish boundaries and footways within the Parishes and requested comments should the council wish to make any comments. It was decided that no comments were required and the contents of the information supplied be noted.

 

C) Letter from Tynedale council in regards to the culture best value review been carried out by the council to see if they wished to make any comments on the review. It was decided to make no comment and to note the contents of the report.

 

6.       Any other business

 

Signage

 

1. The sign at the junction of Low houses is still not replaced.

 

2. There are several signs damaged of missing indicating Sandhoe. NCC to be asked to replace the signs as soon as possible.

 

7.       To confirm date of next meeting

 

It was agreed the date of the next meeting would be Wednesday 9th April 2003 at 7pm. This will be the Annual Parish Meeting before the May elections not the AGM of the council, which will take place following the May elections.

 

The meeting closed at 8.15pm.
